Green Juice
Spring is rounding the corner! So much of my research tells me that starting the day with a detoxifying green juice will gently stimulate the liver and gallbladder, promote healthy bowel movements, reduce inflammation, support hormone metabolism, and deliver essential micronutrients for my body to assimilate.
How could I possibly deserve all those nutrients in one tall glass? Green juice has always seemed such a luxury to me.
Plus, what about all that fiberous waste? Shouldn’t I be eating that? Won't that just cause blood sugar dysregulation?
Anytime I’m reaching for a juice it’s the green one - maybe because green my favorite color and that vibration resonates very deeply with me. Or maybe it’s because I’m lacking in nutrients and they are magnetizing me. Whatever the reason, the time has finally come for me to indulge in the green juice attraction.
My whole food plant-based approach to eating gives me confidence that I can skip the fiber while enjoying this nutritious beverage without worrying about my intestinal microbiome’s appetite. For some fiber for bonus points I’m adding in some ground flax seeds!
The carbohydrate and sugar content of these vegetables and greens are quite low so not of much concern, whereas fruit without the fiber would be more so of one.
As for the scraps, they’re for the worms to enjoy.
